Marine
My father has left me
He’s gone off to war
He’ll come back one day
He promised me so
My mother is worried
About her husband, Marine
He is gone of fighting
For a Victory
One thing she forbid him
And that was to die
He said that he wouldn’t
He’d come home alright
However my father
Couldn’t listen to rules
And as he broke this one
My mother died too
She continued to love us
Her children, just two
Yet, we saw that she missed him
Her heart broken in two
As we grew up
One mother, No dad
I learned that he fought hard
And never gave up
My mother she struggled
Without the husband she loved
Yet, as she stayed strong
It shaped who I was
