My Vow
I do wonder,
If anyone hears me at night,
If anyone makes an attempt,
To let in some light.
Does any one hear me cry,
Or even my screams,
Pleading for forgiveness,
And hope for a single dream.
Does somebody see through me,
See through my eyes,
Into my smile,
That is use to disguise.
Or see past my skin,
Through the layer of lies,
Into the bitter past,
Filled with silent useless cries.
Can anyone see my scars,
Hidden under my jeans,
Or beneath the sleeves of my sweater,
And see what each one means.
The symbol for hope,
The sign for self-abuse,
The mark for weakness,
Imprinted by a knife's misuse.
I'm misunderstood,
I'm off at the side,
Happy and sad,
Is what i denied.
The numbness was chosen,
It's what I allow,
Don't let in emotion,
That's is my vow.
