Subseries- Time
Time is a wheel
It’s not on your side
It’s not yours to take
It’s not yours to bide.
Whenever you’re late
Time always mocks you
It’s always its fault
When the boss yells at you.
Time isn’t your friend
He’s not one to borrow
Fridays come too late,
Which on Sunday’s not true for the morrow.
Time likes its little jokes
To me it once said,
“It four hours before six,
It’s time to get out of bed!”
It’s always a constant
And at you it will scoff
It’ll make you late for a date
Ticking your girlfriend off.
Only once did it help me
And only once do I say
And then I didn’t really want to
Be where I was that day
The clock looks innocent
It’s face is so round
The tick of the second hand
Is quite a relaxing sound.
But be warned, I tell you
I say don’t be a fool
While man controls many things
Time is not subject to his rule.
The next time I look at the clock
It’ll plan it’s little act
I’ll stare back at it and say
“What the hell are you looking at?!”
