The Suffering of Sacrifice
Duty calls,
Your heartbeats racing.
Color falls,
You can't stop pacing.
Tears roll down,
You say goodbye.
Without a sound,
You promise not to die.
You board the train,
Turn and wave.
I feel this pain,
How can you be so brave?
Months, years pass,
Your still not here.
Time leaves fast,
But not the fear.
A letter, one word,
Every thing's lost,
You served your country,
But at this high cost.
What happens now?
They say life goes on,
But tell me how
I raise our new born son.
He has grown up,
I call our boy Corey.
Times can be tough,
But we'll never forget your story.
