i saw your whole life in front of me
when you fell on the ground
i saw your life
slip through your fingertips.
i knew you couldn't grasp on anymore
but i still held your hand.
I saw your whole life in front of me.
ever sine you were born
to now.
those precious blue eyes you once had
turned to a cold gray
you blood soaked my hand
and i saw your life drain from you.
your life flickered there
light a stoplight
running out of battery.
but i still held your hand
even though i felt your grip had gone.
you faded into the blackness
as the rain started to pour.
but i still held your hand
because that's all i had now from you
