Birthmarks
Sometimes you're alone
I won't deny or keep you
From the truth.
You're just one face
One tiny flame in a world
Caught on fire.
Surrounded by strange people,
Weird feelings,
While you carry the world
On your shoulders.
Tears don't matter
They don't mean a thing,
When compared to the oceans
That hide everyone else's pain.
Starting over won't change the past
So live with no regrets,
And face your mistakes
All you can really do
Is believe in yourself.
The clouds are in plenty,
But there's only one sun,
So shine on.
Eventually those scars will
Become,
Birthmarks.
