Dear World
Dear World,
I’m weary of you and your ways.
Your judgmental, hypocritical ways.
You are jealous
Self-centered
Rude
And obnoxious
And I’m through, I’m done with you
I’ve moved on.
I won’t listen to your lies,
About my hair or my size,
Or your temptations to fit in.
With you, I’ll never win.
So I’m done.
I’m through with you.
You can call me names.
Try to bring me shame,
But you can’t hurt me anymore.
No more.
‘Cause I’ve moved on.
I’m long gone.
I’m going to live my life without your stain
You can’t cause me anymore pain
‘Cause I’m done, I’m through,
With you.
I’ve found the One whose Name
Has conquered every shame.
He took my blame.
He bore the pain.
His blood alone can wash my stains.
You can’t hurt me anymore.
‘Cause I’ve moved on to the One
Who will never be done with me.
