Youth and the Sea
My eyes have not yet scanned the perimeter of the vast horizon.
My feet have not yet navigated the length of the great earth.
And I am young in spirit and fresh in body and naïve in experience,
but my mind has wondered beyond the four corners of the globe.
My soul has consumed the wake of an immense imagination.
And though my ship is new and polished and still maintains an even keel,
Its hull has weathered fantastic storms and has been
rattled by great waves of pain,
moved by currents of change.
If youth is measured in years, I am as young as the day before sunrise.
If youth is measured by the tides you have assailed, I am as old as the sea itself.
Do not let my youth fool you
