Those Things That Never Were
I miss that distorted place called 'us'
On the border of my fragile trust
Disillusionment I ate up
Just like you did my reality
Your eyes bathed in a certain light
a gossamer figment, my heart's delight
But the luminescence left one night
and your shadow was cast on my soul
I miss your breath caught in me
your voice warped on a gentle breeze
But what was it you said to me?
Who knows, my love was louder
My hands cool on your lips
to silence words muting our bliss
But its for those words that I wish
and its quiet now, as I miss
Those things that never were
