The Universe
i found myself lost
in the constellation of freckles
across your bare shoulders
we counted to five,
swinging our legs and
holding our breath
carefree with the taste of summer
in my long hair,
reflecting yesterday and
tomorrow
as if they would come
and go
like the waves
of that ocean we loved
so much
holding on to sea salt
and sleepy eyes
the smell of
carefree and happiness
coating our senses
holding our breath
counting to five
just one more today.
