Destroyed
Heart on her sleeve,
Hole in her chest.
Every time you leave,
She forgets the rest.
Memories fade,
As tears stream down her face.
She looks at the blade,
While dressing in lace.
It was only a mater of time,
Before your words began to mean more.
Selling herself for a dime,
Pausing only for a moment at the door.
Sliding into bed,
Only to be filled with dread.
Feeling as if this were the only way,
To make that feeling stay.
His hands, rough on her skin,
His tongue unnatural and cold.
Feeling like she would never win,
She made a choice, and was sold.
Selling herself, for a low price,
Her body, her innocence, never to be regained.
His voice in her ear, like ice,
Her body stiff, energy drained.
At the end of the night,
She heads back to her home.
And struggles with an endless fight,
Until she reaches the alley, to roam.
A new night, a new guy,
A new day, a new scar.
She tries so hard not to cry,
While sitting at the bar.
It’s a cycle of defeat,
Never ending, cruel and unforgiving.
Walking half naked down the street,
Barely living.
All because of the words you uttered,
In attempt to raise your self esteem,
You muttered,
And destroyed her dream.
