Memorial
One man stares at stone,
Polished until he sees,
Reflections behind the names,
Of comrades lost at sea:
Air Force, Army,
Navy Seal,
The blood of war,
Is all that’s real:
One man stares at
Stone stares back,
Holding emotion
That faces lack.
The names they gleam;
The faces they stream;
Jungle sweat in the morning,
On rotted green leaves,
He grieves.
