Letting Go
It's hard to
admit it's
gone-
I've held on too
long.
I still remember
day one;
love blooming
in the
summer sun.
We stayed out
all night,
afraid to
kiss goodbye.
Friends said
it would never last
that didn't
stop us,
falling fast.
September came too
soon-
we kissed
under the august
moon,
I knew I
would never
again see
the face
that made my
knees so weak.
So here I stand
in the December
wind;
my breath turns to frost
in the air,
I won't forget the
love we shared.
