Cold Feet
With your stilettos tapping the glossy floors,
When you go to college,
You expect everything to be different.
You expect to walk into a world of maturity,
But what you enter?
It's just another world of grungy tennis shoes,
Far too similar to the Sketchers you came from.
Some people will still be wearing their old sneakers,
Drama and insecurities of adolescence,
Clinging to the bottom of their favorite Nikes,
Like discarded Double Bubble.
It's not all glitter Toms from here,
You cant tap your heels together three times,
Create your own ideal university.
All you can do is shine those boots,
And maybe pull on an extra pair of socks,
College will change you,
But you don't want to get a blister.
