Shopping
I like going shopping the way your
shoes go click-clack-click on the shiny floor
or listening to all the other people
who are talking-talking-talking not looking
or the lonely people staring at you and your
friends or your family and the bags you’re carrying
that go slap-slap against your feet…
also the stores that have everything you want
like clothes and music and games and electronics
and you’re trying to look every way and your
head's getting dizzy because of all the colors
going spin-spin-whirl in your head and all the things you put in your mind that you want to take but
only some that you can have because you don’t
have enough money.
