Send me a new life in the mail
I believe I have misplaced mine
Let us sit down then on the front porch
And drink straight from the bottle wine
Consider that I have a heart
And maybe you have a head
Can we both say our new resolutions
Without breaking fingers instead?
Tomorrow, or the next, I pray
That God will bring us to the end
I think we both know what's right and wrong
And that the truth is never to bend
So send me a new life in the mail
Because it has shattered mine
I'll drop the gun if you drop the act
And step back into line
