I Can't Change The Past, But The Past Changed Me
Drops of lightning on your face
In such a way that you wont erase
Silence hides you, oh so sad
I can never tell when you’re raving mad
You can’t change the past but the past changed me
As well as the way that I’ve come to see
The twilight splinters into dust
And my tear soaked heart turns to rust
Stars on a banner filling up space
Yet in the sky they leave no trace
Memories of things I’ve never had
They stay close goading me to be bad
You can’t change the past but the past changed me
As well as the way I’ve come to be
My fragile constitution is broken in a gust
So I slowly shed my tarnished upper crust
