Motherly Love
If I’m forlorn
atop a snowy mountain,
My mother will arise from the snow
And assemble a net to catch me
Am I worthy of her affection?
You judge.
My harsh words and actions,
sear her heart.
Silent tears of concern drip from her eyes,
soaking my half-folded clothes with love.
Don’t weep mother.
I assure her,
that I will stay out of mischief the next time.
But I create another tornado,
which carries me off,
deserting me atop that snowy mountain.
And I’m lonely once again.
When I glance down I spot her,
ascending the mountain trail.
She gives me a warm hug,
And I weep into her shoulder,
She says,
Don’t worry,
I won’t let you mess up again.
My love will follow you to eternity.
