What You've Done To ME
Just far enough
To hear
To see
To touch
Though your presence
Leaves a mark
On my spirit
As if you were an artist
Leaving your signature
On every heart you break
Your scent
Still lingers in my room
Your yearning for mischief
Staining my sheets
Lying in your goals
Feeling your emotions
Rips me in two
Now that you're gone
So long away.
Tasting that anticipation
That familiar feeling
Of wanting
Of desire
Stays in the crevices of my mind
Your beautiful words
Filling my head with smoke
Leaving me
Naive
Barely innocent.
Took advantage
Of your masterpiece
You molded me
To be what i am.
On separate islands
We stand
Lying through our teeth
Jaws clenched
Arms folded
I'm no longer your model
Your muse.
I won't be that girl
That loves you
Unconditionally
While you love me
With a contract.
I will no longer be subjected
To your guidelines
Because love has no rules.
Not anymore.
