I Remember
Two pig tails, on the side of her head.
Two brown eyes, a bit too big for her face.
One smile, a huge one that lit up the room.
I remember it, so clearly.
One pony tail, high on the back of her head.
Two brown eyes, sparkling as if they were in the know.
And still a smile, a huge smile.
I remember, it so clearly
Hair down, swinging past her shoulders.
two brown eyes, older now, more mature.
A smaller smile now, one that knew heartache.
I remember it, so clearly.
Hair cut short, dyed jet black.
Blue eyes now, their true beauty hidden by plastic.
A hardened frown that rarely saw happiness.
Though it is regretful,
I remember this too, all so clearly
White hair, colored from age.
Brown eyes again, that sparkled once more, like they were laughing still at an old joke.
Once more, a smile, that had learned, to love again.
I remember her, though only through pictures.
I remember her clearly.
