Your Old Sunglasses
I took a walk, you see
down the battered path of you and me.
Remembering the good that we once had
the smiles and laughs before all went bad.
And as painful as it may have been
to basically lose you all over again,
I can now say with definite certainty
that we together were cursed with dysfunctionality.
So on I'll trudge through the scattered gloom
praying that flowers will soon be in bloom.
I now have no more pieces left of you
which puts me at a loss for what to do.
I suppose I can only savor these memories in their masses
since I seem to have misplaced your old sunglasses.
