I Am Emptiness
Here I sit, I sit and think
I think of what I want to say
But no words, are the words, that I can think
My mind is empty
Nothing’s there, nothing at all
Just empty, empty, emptiness
I no longer can cry at this loss
Or smile at the memories
The cruel shock slaps my face
And I feel nothing
And my mind remains blank
Tears well up in my eyes
But without thoughts, they are nothingness
My tears, like me, know not what to do
They sit in my eyes and wait
Wait for something to happen
For something to change
And my world is frozen
Iced over, cold, empty forgotten
Emotions linger but cannot stay
They too are nothing
Left alone to think am I
But no words are the words that I can think
My mind is empty
I think I am dead
But alas, I cannot be
For here I am, you see
Here I am, empty, confused, forgotten
Abandoned by the ones I need
The ones I cannot live without
But somehow, I am here
I am empty, broken, numb from loss
But yes, I am here
And I will keep going
With or without you
Emptiness means potential to grow
I am emptiness
I will grow
