"Pick a card

Any card

Any one is fine.

Would you please?

I beg you sir,

Just a moment of your time."

The fairway man

All dressed in stripes

Tall and overly thin

A battered top-hat

Adding more height

The overall smell of gin

With maybe a little cinnamon

Or a little spice

Something just a little bit hot

"No than you" says I,

trying to pass him,

"I would rather not."

"Are you sure.

My good sir?"

He responds rather quickly

"I am sure you'll

Enjoy it"

His tone now silky

"Fine' I say

Tiring of this

Annoying man

"But please try

To make it

As fast as you possibly can."

"Yes, my good man."

Just pick a card

And keep it in your mind."

He fanned the cards out

And I picked out one

And what do I find?

A terrified face

Banging in vain

Trying to escape

"Now listen

Close to me, boy"

As my mouth went agape

"You can take

The place of that

Poor child

"So will you do it?

Set him free?"

The look in his eye was wild

I rolled it around

Inside of my head

Wondering if I should

Finally I come

Upon the answer

"I will," trying to be good

Suddenly I felt

Squeezed and boxed in

Coming from every side

And I couldn't

move from the spot

No matter how hard I tried

When it was done

I was a playing card

Laying upon the ground

The fairway man

Picked me up

Without a single sound

He had an evil smile

Looking for his next victim

"Oh, oh there's no need to rush

"Soon I will finish

Making my own
All-human Royal Flush."

This is a story I came up with while I was half-asleep. That would probably explain why it's so weird...
