Suffocating
Dread is a dark pit where
The air envelops you like
Fabric, closing in on you,
Tightening around you like a large
Snake. Tears are splashing down
Your face now, drowning you with
Their sorrow. You feel like
Screaming, but no one can
Hear you because it has
Wrapped itself around your mouth.
It completely covers you like
A cocoon, and then it gets
Tighter and tighter, and you cannot
Stop it, and then you no longer
Want to stop it, because it
Has gotten to your brain
And breaks your will, and
Now you crave it.
Then it leaves your brain and
Goes to your heart, and you
Give up.
You give into dread.
