Life's Game
Sometimes the world
Is a dark, scary place.
Like a horror film,
A thriller novel.
You can’t turn it off,
You can’t set it down.
The ending is always a twist.
It fills you with regret and dread,
It hard presses you.
You do all you can
To not get crushed.
Sometimes life hurts,
Your heart aches.
Your soul is submerged.
The air grows dense around you.
Choking on words and emotions,
You fall facedown.
Do you know what I mean?
I cannot break free of the chains
I am bound forever
Who will rescue me?
My friends, what more can I do?
As hard as I try,
I cannot prevail.
The worlds tragic humor
Taken out on me.
This life is full of regrets.
I don’t understand,
The game it plays.
