Pulling Petals
He loves me.
Arms like sunshine enclose me,
Spreading a wonderful warmth
To all they touch.
He loves me not.
A vice-like grip entraps my heart,
Squeezing and suffocating me
To a point of no return.
He loves me.
Eyes appraise me outwardly.
Smile draws me closer still.
Voice confirms a feeling her to stay.
He loves me not.
Eyes see through me, judging.
Smile masking what you truly feel.
Voice thick with lies.
When will I learn that pulling petals
Is not a true judge of character?
Each flower its own variation,
Never quite the same creation.
