Mockingbird
What happened
To quiet
Starry nights
Or communing with sweet autumn wind
Laughing with darkness
And finding the stillness within
Now rushing flows of man-made lava
Burn our minds to numb
Neon and brillance
That destroys and cools
So now we prefer
Falsity to truth
For fiction's always easier to trust
If sculpted lies mean so much more
To our twisted desperation
Turns out there's more than one way
To kill a mockingbird
