Fever
Cross your knees!
Wash your hands!
Elbows off the table!
I’ll wash your mouth out with soap!
It’s behind the scenes moving
Around like an infectious disease
That takes over before you know it
Has taken you prey
You’ll sizzle and burn until
Etiquette is lost
Amongst the flames teasing your skin
Like the fever of a venereal disease
It’s all consuming and sucking
In all you thought you knew
About control and the manners
That demanded your pious ways
You’ll let it go
To burn another
Who will shout and call you shameful
To have burned so happily bright
But he will move on
Behind the scenes silently
Waiting for more coy prey
To stumble upon his burning
And devilishly feverous ways
