Forgive me, Love.
Forgive me, love. If I seem somewhat hesitant.
I just don’t want to rush this.
Because what we got, well it’s on the road to perfect.
And I don’t want to blow it.
You’re the answer to my prayers,
Everything I could ever want.
Forgive me if I sound cliché.
I’m constantly trying to come up with a new and improved way,
To be like any other that has ever offered to stay.
Forgive me, because I know my hearts a wreck.
The one before you just up and left.
And I’ve picked up the pieces, and done the best I can.
I’m hoping it’ll never happen again.
So take this heart of mine, and dare I be so bold.
I’m saying, right now, you will be a note I can hold.
Forgive me, love. If I seem somewhat hesitant.
I just don’t want to rush this.
Because what we got, well it’s on the road to perfect.
And I just don’t want to blow it.
