Can't Go Back In Time
Flashback to 5 years old
Crawling into your mother's lap
Home from the first day of school
Flying off the bus, into a hug, describing the day
Without responsibility
Without stress
Our 5 year old world, such a small place
Filled with big backyards and crazy imagination
When 64 crayons made you cool
Mom and Dad were superheroes
Grandparents were the coolest people
In a hurry to grow up
Then, later, a deep desire to be little again
But flash-forward to the present
And realize you can't be 5 again
Such a simple thing we take for granted
