Myself
I look in the mirror and see,
The girl that I am now,
And beg for the girl that used to be there to stay,
I wonder if they remember me,
And if the new love me,
I try to remember,
A time when nothing made sense,
And I lived in ignorance,
But I now realize,
That I must continue to walk this lonely road,
Only to come across demise,
When I fall off the cliff,
I look in the mirror,
And see the girl I am now,
And remember the girl I was,
She continues to run around inside my mind,
Trying to find the exit,
Only to realize their isn’t one,
I hold my head and cry,
“O Lord my God why?”
Why must I change from time to time?
Help me find the missing piece,
To earn that happy girl back,
I continue to cry,
Even though I’m content with my new life,
I cry for the girl,
Trapped inside my memories,
Trying to get out,
To help put the piece back into place.
