The Skies That Taunt Me
Dark skies
They taunt me
I want to go out there, to escape
To get away from this burden I call my home.
I want to go out into the night
But I am trapped here
Because I am so young and there’s nowhere to go.
I want to leave, to run down the street
The sound of my feet, bare and white, hitting the ground hard
The idea of that makes my heart sing
Because anywhere is better than here
The home with tattered love
Broken up, like my soul
I want to escape
To run away
Only I lie in my bed, looking out into the dark skies
The skies that taunt me
