Wedding Vows
Did I not take thee, my love.
Yet we reached the dividing line.
Between past and present.
Was the dividing line.
Through sickness and in health.
A new angel, glowing in pure health.
A plague of loss left behind for me to catch in the palm of my hand.
A snowflake settling, before turning avalanche to bury me.
Dividing line.
To have and to hold.
Having nightmares, not dreams.
Holding onto memories, not flesh.
Dividing line.

Though wed did we not.
Death crept upon us.
Dividing line.

We are not gathered here today to hear airy music and wedding vows.
We are gathered here today.
For reasons no one daresay.
We are gathered with sunken spirits, and shattered hearts..
