Boots
I hear boots.
They are black,
With a silver buckle.
I just know it.
Ka-thump Ka-thump.
On the wooden floor
They come closer.
I don't look up,
But my cheeks flush.
I know its you.
Ka-thump Ka-thump.
They pass by.
I sneak a glance,
I see you stop.
You turn around.
Ka-thump Ka-thump
You're coming back.
I look down,
Attempt to focus.
And fail.
Silence.
Then, you speak.
Your smell drifts to me,
I forget how to respond.
Struggling...
Silence.
You look at me.
I find the words,
They spill out.
You reply.
Silence.
You leave.
And say goodbye,
I do too.
You turn away.
Ka-thump Ka-thump.
