"Timeless" He Had Said
When time sparks the ashes
Of my broken heart;
When you hear the clashes
You'll know you left your mark
And I'll only remember
A half wasted year
On something more than embers
I can't remember, I fear
And when I dominate those beauties
And when flowers seem poor
You'll remember me
But I won't remember you anymore.
So when time tells a tale
And you come running back
I'm afraid my hands for holding
Will be clasped behind my back.
And I'm afraid letting go
Is more than a word
And hearts are more attached
Than outwardly secured
So, please, just forget me
And I'll eventually forget you
Because promises are like legends;
They don't always hold true
So move away from the daylight
You see in my eyes
And move towards the darkness
Of the gorgeous I despise.
