Under The Stars
Every time I see your name,
Your face,
your gorgeous, make-me-melt
eyes,
I fall apart inside
Not a lot;
Only a fraction each time.
But numbers add up.
Before I even know it,
I'll lie broken at your feet.
I tell myself I don't love you,
I tell myself I hate you for
what you did...
Even though I can't quite
remember what it was.
Every time you laugh
You don't realize that I'm only
smiling
to hold back the tears,
because you aren't laughing with me
and I long for the times when
you were.
God, I miss your hand so, so,
so much
You have no idea how much
that meant to me;
How much your fingers
cradling mine
made all my problems leave
Can't we pretend
nothing happened?
Can't we pretend it's still that
fall night?
On the hay? Under the stars?
