In anger he rages,

With love she protects

Yet with every whispered notion,

And every mellow breath,

The land disintegrates,

With every word, it dies,

Oberon,

Titania,

Enamored with pride,

They fight for a young boy to possess,

Sly and cunning the king commands,

A Puck to fulfill his demands,

To take a little western flower,

Dote onto her eyes,

And let it devour,

All sense and reason,

Leave obsession with eye’s first discretion,

In hiding, the Fairy king looms,

To find a young man with obsession trailing after,

The more he shuns,

The more she follows,

Fills cracks with pity, Oberon seals their fate,

Sends speedy Puck to await,

An Athenian’s arrival,

To dote onto his eyes,

A little western flower,

To let it devour,

Arrogance and unrequited love,

Replaced with a sweet plucking dove,

To make Demetrius Helena’s,

And Helena Demetrius’s,

Isn’t that so?

Oh no, sadly no,

For there is the arrival of a love struck duo,

Whilst Hermia and Lysander sleep,

Puck dotes onto his eyes,

A little western flower,

To devour his heart vowed to Hermia,

Replace with one for Helena,

To his dismay,

Mockery is how she feels swayed,

Flees!

Gone!

Ran away, a scampering hawk,

Now admist these heavy deeds,

I regret,

I must leave,

Fear not, however,

The story won’t halt forever.

After reading A Midsummer Night's Dream Act II, I wrote to explain the plot in a narrative poem.
