I cupped the world
in my hands,
as if it was a corpulent
red apple, and took a bite.

Its core dripped knowledge.
The placenta of earth.
I chased it with the universe,
and felt it settle in my swollen belly.

I urged humanity to have a taste;
I begged, pleaded, and cajoled.
Until the only things left of the planet
were full stomachs and open minds.

Sounds like the world has much more to offer than what most see on the surface. Beautiful metaphors by the way.

I really like the apple-earth metaphor. I feel like it connects to the apple-knowledge association. Also, like Cheyenne said, a new take, which is really nice. However, I feel like the last two stanzas are a little disconnected from the other two.

It was unusual which made me like it even more.

It showed emotion and opened my mind.
