The pain inside
Has no opposite
No requisites
Yet it lingers.
It scalds
Tear streaks
Of fire
The wetness
To fuel the flame
Burning the soul.
My soul.
I am no more.
Only wisps,
Only ghosts
Of what I once was.

My friend is going through a rough time right now. This is a poem I wrote from how she said she was feeling. She said it was as if the pain burned away who she used to be.
