Remind Me of the Rain
Remind me of the rain,
You always do.
Remind me of the rain,
And those sleepy, grey afternoons
Brown hair and
Charcoal drawings
Your adept fingers
Wisps of lead pencils
Jazz music
And
Hot chocolate
A rhythm
The rhythm
You walked
You cooked
You danced
Warm blankets and
Warmer smiles
Hiding inside ourselves
Morning showers
And the tapping of window
Panes
Fingerprints
Little patterns in the
Lamplight
On the cool glass
Dark storms
Brewing
A pot of coffee
And some popcorn with
That movie
That brings me to tears
You laugh.
I don’t mind,
Your laughter
Is so warm.
And I am
Warm.
Even though
You
Remind me of the rain.
Just like always.
