How I Miss You
..and oh, how I miss you.
Like I lost my pearls.
The one thing that made me feel pretty.
You made me feel alive.
Live my life as the good girl,
You changed that-
For the best.
And I put all the wrong words together
To make this work.
It drives you away and yet,
I keep typing, and writing, and trying
To explain this feeling,
This desire to be near you
And feel your warm, ink-covered skin on
my innocent white.
And to kiss those lips that hold the smile
That could stop traffic in Times Square
And yet,
I keep writing and
It’s getting me nowhere.
I miss you.
That’s all I have to type.
