I Am Me
Most know me as outgoing
You knew me as friendly
She thought I was annoying
He thought I was quiet
They view me as different
You viewed me as unique
She viewed me as a trader
He viewed me as invisible
What does all this mean?
If you really know me
You know it doesn’t mean anything to me
I am me
I am not what people think of me
Or what people want me to be
I am me
I laugh not with a crowd
But when I am humored
I don’t cry due to a funeral
I cry due to sorrow
I don’t dress to empress
I dress to stay warm
I am me
I live my life
Not the life of an idol
I write a poem of myself
Not of my neighbor
I am me
I know me as being loud
I view me as myself
I live to succeed
I don’t live to blend
I am me
