Tears from the Rain
The world grew silent with tears of the rain. Windows of all sizes fogged and cried. The purple, grey clouds rolled above us to claim their lands. Lighting strikes to proclaim their mark. The green grass of land is swallowed forever by a newborn stream to take its place instead. The streets are no more but a new water bank. Water licks along porches to greet everyone with it's cold, mindless touch. Houses that stand tall now are flooded by a familiar friend. Where the cracked, dry dirt of the plains is being filled with bubbles of muddy water. No matter how tall I seem to get I continue to sink deeper in this blue abyss. Like wind, the grass is now swayed by currents. What was conquered by man was overruled with the seven seas. Our worlds were drowned by a cold, mindless touch.
