"I've made mistakes; not one regret." Alyssa Nicolson

i asked my father if i could swim,
and he said that i would drown.
The Sea would imprison me – he said
if my feet had left the ground.

So i walked out to the water,
and cried out – how ’bout now!
He said, a little bit further, Son,
and then you’ll leave the ground.

i stepped on sand then stone,
from hollow ground to sturdy.
The sky was at my level as I
gazed at the birdie.

The Sea brought me a new idea,
the urge to flee to the high.

i asked my Father if i could fly,
and he said, sure, Son – go try.

i jumped as high as i could.
Still, i landed on the ground.
i saw my Father pull on a chain,
then i knew that i was bound.

-----

My sweet Son,
So perfect, so safe,
Never will I lose him,
I must always see his perfect face.

I love that sweet little rascal him,
And his unreasonable ideas,
I love that he thought he could swim,
Away from all his fears.

But no, I saved him,
I saved that ungrateful dear,
I kept him safe and sound,
So I could hold him near.

I love the poem Daddy's Womb and I knew I just had to write my own version of it.

“For I have a plan for you. A plan to give you peace not for disaster, but a plan to give you hope and a future.” -Our Heavenly Father

AHHHH now I get the poem "Daddy's Womb." I didn't understand what the end meant but now I completely understand. I feel as the poem's thoughts are now completed. Amazing job, I could understand your emotions clearly. I just have to say, I love this one a lot more than the one that everyone else is talking about.
