Classic case of an ingénue
Flaunt what you have
Less is always more.
These words linger in her head
As she walks the crowded streets.
She was an ingenue.
Belly button pierced, cropped tee revealing her midriff
Short shorts ending at her crotch.
She craved the attention, but denied the affection.
Whistles and perverse stares
Shouts of “Damn ma” thrown her way.
She beamed with a grin
That soon turned to a grimace.
With a lock of their lips
She took them by the tongue.
She owned them one by one
And she liked the power.
Her heart was battered and bruised
When one after another
they grew tired
Of locking lips with her.
But quickly another would replace
The old flame that slowly reduced her heart to ashes.
But soon she was labeled "easy"
Harsh words
all because less is always more.
