just a tease
You're every cliche ever written,
every love song ever sung.
every boy ever loved by a girl,
and every tear they shed when you were gone.
You're sad,
and hopeful,
and solemn,
and beautiful.
You're like a quiet laugh,
or a quick glance across the room.
You inspire hope and desires.
You extinguish angst and fear.
You're so many unimaginable,
unexplainable things
that everyone seems to collectively feel.
And for a moment,
you feel familiar.
You feel safe.
And then,
with a flash,
you're gone.
