what is a hero?

someone who saved me
they did not use magic
or super powers
they could not fly
but they used teamwork
and helpfull words
words like
'i understand'
and
'we will help you heal'
they did not kill my villain
but they kept me safe
there was no standing ovation
and no parade in their honor
but they changed my world
they helped me...
i now see the good in people
i now have a friend
i do not live in fear any more
i love my heroes
though you may not know their names
their names are ever engraved in my soul
you may not know their faces
but their faces are one of which i will never forget
you may not see them as heroes
but
i love them
they are my heroes
and they saved my life
