Shadows
Walking down the halls,
A chill creeps up my spine,
It crawls across the rest of my skin.
There he is…. My ugly shadow,
His memory follows me,
Spilling across the floors in the school like oil,
Covering everything with himself.
I try to run from the inky blackness of my shadow,
But as I run he just follows my every step.
My shadow who used to be my best friend,
Is now my worst enemy.
When will I be rid of It?
My ugly shadow, who scurries down halls to find me,
Waiting for moments I am most comfortable, to strike,
My body tenses and in my throat a never sounding scream is formed.
When will I be rid of my ugly shadow?
My shadow who used to be my best friend,
Who is now my worst enemy.
