We Are
Ra comes in the wake of darkness
He looks down upon us with contempt
His great eye wreathed is fire
Is he angry? Is he smiling?
It is impossible to know
The dealing of the gods
Over the hot dunes of Egypt
That is where Ra lives
His empire in the sky
Is filled with light and fire
But when he leaves
The people fear his death
Baal roars in his anger
And Imhotep silences him
Ra comes in waves through the veil
That was left by Baal
He sees what we do
He judges us
Amun, the creator
Knows who we really are
Ra thinks he rules
While we scurry like rats
Across the surface of Geb
Who likes our feet on his back
There is nothing we can do
To quell his anger
If he is angry, then we pay
If he smiles, then we thrive
Either way, Ra rules
For we are merely Human
The gods play above
And some below
They choose our path
And we feel their might
And Ra looks and smiles
We are Human
