My One From Up Above
In your arms I am safe,
Safe from a world that would do me harm.
You cover me in a soft embrace,
And brush my skin with your arm.
In your eyes I am moved,
To laugh or to cry.
They shine like the moon,
Hanging in a dark blue sky.
In your touch I am free,
Free from my restraints.
I do not try to flee,
For the love feels better than the pain.
I know I cannot love you,
Not for very long.
Because, just as the stars above you,
I must keep moving on.
Yet in my heart you are forever,
Forever in my soul, my one from up above.
As much as these words are clever,
So is our undying love.
